The Beginning
Our Story
GetMyVAT was born in Hamburg in May 2019, in a city with 800 years of trading history. We saw e-commerce sellers — from solo entrepreneurs to growing brands — struggling with the complexity of EU VAT compliance. Missing deadlines. Paying fines. Getting lost in bureaucracy designed for large corporations.
We started as a boutique VAT consultancy, guiding sellers one by one through registrations, filings, and audits. Over time, we built the tools we wished had existed — a platform that automates the data work and a tax advisor network that handles the filings. German Gründlichkeit meets modern technology.
Today, 500+ sellers across 25 countries trust GetMyVAT to keep them compliant. Our Hamburg team coordinates with tax advisors across all 27 EU member states, and our platform handles millions of transactions every month.
